Let Music be the Reason for a Smile

EVENT: Team Bryce Foundation Inc. hosted the Let Music Be The Reason For A Smile event in the Great Hall at Best Place at the Historic Pabst Brewery.
CAUSE: Funds raised at the event will allow children with disabilities to participate in community life and activities, such as wheelchair basketball, wheelchair baseball and horseback riding therapy.
PROCEEDS: Donations, sponsorships and entry fees raised $7,500.

Charlies Night

EVENT: The Charles E. Kubly Foundation hosted Charlie’s Night at the Black Swan MKE.
CAUSE: The foundation grants funds to projects that align with its goals of bettering the lives of people affected by depression, raising the awareness for mental health, and supporting suicide prevention programs.
PROCEEDS: Though the objective of the event was to raise awareness of depression and suicide prevention, tickets, raffles and donations brought in $1,000 for the organization.

Red Kettle on the Red Carpet Gala

EVENT: The Salvation Army hosted the Red Kettle on the Red Carpet Gala at The Wisconsin Club.
CAUSE: Proceeds raised from the event support the nonprofit’s more than 80 programs and services in Milwaukee County.
PROCEEDS: A live auction, silent auction and donations raised approximately $118,000.

Xenia Trunk Show

Xenia invited guests to meet the president of Baccarat Crystal at their Baccarat Crystal trunk show and engraving event. Attendees enjoyed light appetizers and refreshments, and 20 percent of the proceeds benefited Children’s Hospital.

Young MKE Holiday Gala

EVENT: Young Milwaukee hosted its annual holiday gala at the Milwaukee Athletic Club.
CAUSE: Proceeds benefited the Journey House, which helps families move out of poverty through adult education, workforce readiness, youth development and community engagement.
PROCEEDS: Local sponsors and ticket sales raised more than $100,000, and 2,500 toys were donated to be distributed to kids 12 and under at the Journey House’s Winter Wonderland Event the following weekend.

Housing Champions Awards Luncheon

EVENT: Nearly 200 community members attended the Habitat for Humanity of Waukesha County Housing Champions Awards Luncheon at the Milwaukee Mariott West.
CAUSE: The event raised awareness for the lack of affordable housing in Waukesha County. The Southeastern Regional Planning Commission (SEWRPC) and RiverGlen Christian Church were awarded as Habitat Waukesha’s 2017 Housing Champions.
PROCEEDS: The event raised $15,617, which will be used to rehab or build at least 10 homes on White Rock Avenue in Waukesha.
