EVENT: The Milwaukee Repertory Theater held a gala in honor of the performance “One Night With Janis Joplin.” Joplin’s siblings Michael Joplin and Laura Joplin attended the special event.
CAUSE: More than $160,000 was raised to benefit the artistic and educational programming at The Rep through auctions, a progressive dinner, raffle and Educational “Raise the Paddle” appeal.
SNEAK PEEK: Three selections from the production were featured during the evening.

EVENT: A preview party for Gathering on the Green was held at the River Club in Mequon.
PROCEEDS: More than $20,000 was raised to benefit Gathering on the Green and its youth programs through auctions, a raffle and donations for the new Summer STEAM Youth Program.
ANNOUNCEMENT: The non-profit organization announced its Summer STEAM youth program — Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math. The program is being offered through both Gathering on the Green and COA. Both children’s groups will be brought together before the Gathering On The Green July event at Mequon Rotary Park to meet the von Trapp children and perform together.

EVENT: The Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design held a fundraising event at MIAD to benefit the student scholarship fund.
PROCEEDS: The event raised $308,000 through silent and live auctions and a scholarship bid.
ART IN ACTION: MIAD welcomed guests into its third floor drawing, painting and printmaking studios and classes to celebrate creativity enhanced by student demonstrations. Guests also enjoyed after dinner drinks and desserts in the 2013 Senior Exhibition.

SHINING STAR: Dr. Manish Patankar gave a presentation following the brunch with an update on research he and his team are conducting at University Hospital and Clinics in Madison.

EVENT: A colorful and fun evening featuring aerial dancers, casino games, music and more took place at the Pritzlaff Building.
CAUSE: Proceeds benefit young adults in the Independent Living Services program of the human services agency, St. Aemilian-Lakeside. The program helps young adults and youth aging out of foster care successfully transition to adulthood.
PROCEEDS: Guests raised $48,000 through ticket sales, a silent auction, a 50/50 raffle, a Bids for Kids fundraiser, and from participation at event features during the evening.
IN THE SPOTLIGHT: Young adults from the Independent Living Services program spoke on how St. Aemilian-Lakeside helps them meet their educational, vocational and life goals.

EVENT: The spring brunch was held at the new Watermark at Shully’s in Thiensville. Dramatist, book reviewer, and academic entertainer Barbara Rinella returned for the tenth year in a row as the presenter at the event.
CAUSE: All proceeds benefit child abuse prevention programs at Ozaukee Family Services.
PROCEEDS: More than $36,000 was raised between brunch and raffle ticket sales.
