The Wisconsin Chapter of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) hosted its 37th Annual Celebration in Design Awards at the historic Pritzlaff Building. The venue provided an elegant backdrop for the black and white themed masquerade. “New York, New York” was the theme of the Elmbrook Humane Society’s sixth annual Wine & Whiskers fundraising gala held at the Westmoor Country Club in Brookfield. The event is the largest annual fundraiser for Elmbrook Humane Society to help the animals at its no-kill animal shelter by providing shelter and medical care for homeless animals in the area. More than 300 people attended the event and helped raise money through a live auction, hosted by former Green Bay Packer, LeRoy Butler, as well as a huge silent auction, raffle, wall of wine raffle and grab bags. The annual luncheon and fashion show was held at Pewaukee Marriott Hotel. Proceeds from the event will support the work of Safe Babies Healthy Families to help break the cycle of child abuse, neglect and poverty in Waukesha County. This year’s event included the organization’s board of directors taking a turn down the runway as “Celebrity Models” wearing outfits from Faye’s, Strawberry Fields Boutique and Boston Store. Held the Monday before Mardi Gras (Lundi Gras), the 2013 Ronald McDonald House Chefs’ Dinner was a lavish celebration New Orleans style, with award-winning chefs showcasing a Creole menu. Wine was paired with each course, courtesy of Capitol- Husting Co., Inc. More than $41,000 in net proceeds was raised through ticket sales, a silent auction and a raffle. Proceeds support the Ronald McDonald’s House mission of easing the burden of families whose lives have been disrupted as a result of their child’s illness or injury. Photos by Matt Haas
