EVENT: Guests of the St. Joseph’s Medical Clinic gala celebrated in medieval costumes at the Golden Mast Inn in Okauchee.
CAUSE: Proceeds supported the nonprofit clinic’s mission to help uninsured, underinsured and low-income neighbors in Waukesha County.
PROCEEDS: $56,000 was raised through sponsorships, raffles, donations, and live and silent auctions.

Celebrity Waiters

EVENT: Members of the Milwaukee Admirals served dinner and wine to guests at the 36th annual Celebrity Waiters Dinner at the Grain Exchange.
CAUSE: Proceeds supported free vision-screening programs in preschools, childcare centers, schools and adult resource centers.
PROCEEDS: $107,000 was raised through silent and live auctions.

Serving Our Youth

EVENT: The 18th Annual Milwaukee Tennis & Education Foundation Ball was held at the Peck Welcome Center at the Milwaukee County Zoo.
CAUSE: The event benefited the Milwaukee Tennis and Education Foundation, which is dedicated to improving the lives of youth through programs focused on tennis, education, life skills, fitness and mentoring.
PROCEEDS: Nearly $60,000 was raised primarily through sponsorships and silent and live auctions.

An Investment in Knowledge

EVENT: The Milwaukee Public Library Foundation hosted the Benjamin Franklin Awards Celebration at the Central Library.
CAUSE: Proceeds support lifelong learning at the library, including early literacy programs and assistance for job seekers.
PROCEEDS: The event raised $500,000 through sponsorships and a live auction.
HONORED: On behalf of the Milwaukee Bucks, Peter Feigin accepted the Ben Franklin Award for the organization’s contributions to literacy and learning in the community.

EVENT: The Second Annual Boots and Bling Barn Dance Fundraiser featuring music by Frogwater was held at LifeStriders in Waukesha.
CAUSE: Proceeds benefited LifeStriders’ therapeutic programs for people with special needs.

Looking Sharp

EVENT: SHARP Literacy hosted A Novel Event with John Quiñones, the broadcast journalist, at The Pfister Hotel.
CAUSE: Proceeds from the event will support the delivery of SHARP’s foundational literacy program to more than 8,000 elementary school students in 36 of Milwaukee’s most at-risk schools.
PROCEEDS: More than $200,000 was raised through sponsorships, ticket sales and a live auction.
HONORED: Mayor Tom Barrett was presented with a Literacy Champion Award for his support of SHARP Literacy’s educational program and for improving literacy in Milwaukee schools. Richard Pieper Sr., the nonexecutive chairman of the board of PPC Partners, received SHARP Literacy’s first EDGE Award (energizing through dedication, giving and engagement).

Re-creating Wine Country

EVENT: The Museum of Wisconsin Art hosted its biennial signature fundraiser, Vintage, turning the West Bend museum into a wine country of sorts among the artwork. As they were serenaded with music, guests chose samples from among 50 types of wine.
CAUSE: Proceeds will cover arts education programs and museum operation costs.
PROCEEDS: Close to $150,000 was raised through ticket sales, sponsorships and auctions.
