Making an Impact Together

EVENT: After hearing from five nonprofit finalists, members of the collective philanthropic group Impact100 Greater Milwaukee voted on and named the recipients of its grants during the organization’s second annual awards celebration at Marquette University’s ballroom in Alumni Memorial Union.
GRANTS: The Benedict Center, GPS Education Partners and Running Rebels each received $100,000 from the all-female nonprofit.

Gala in the Garden 2017

EVENT: The Friends of Villa Terrace hosted its biennial fundraiser, Gala in the Garden, at the Villa Terrace Decorative Arts Museum. This year’s event featured a Moulin Rouge-esque theme, with French-inspired cuisine and a can-can performance by the Femme Feroce Dancers.
CAUSE: Proceeds benefit the care of the museum and its Renaissance Garden.

Wilson Center's Big Event

Sharon Lynn Wilson Center for the Arts held its annual fundraiser. The Big Event. Guests enjoyed tasty food and an exclusive concert featuring a tribute to some of the most influential artists of Motown, rock ’n’ roll and more. The event raised $267,000 for the center’s arts education programs.

HAWS Celebrates Its Expansion

This past spring, The Humane Animal Welfare Society invited guests to a grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony for the recently completed facility expansion. Visitors were treated to light refreshments and a behind the scenes shelter tour to view the updated and expanded service areas and how these areas will enable HAWS to continue to building a no-kill community.

Strengthening Families

EVENT: The United Community Center, which serves families on Milwaukee’s south side, held its 47th anniversary celebration earlier this year.
CAUSE: Funds will help build a new Acosta Middle School as well as support a wide variety of client programs and student scholarships.
PROCEEDS: Almost $280,000 was raised through donations and sponsorships.

Cheers to the Kids

EVENT: Friends of the Jewish Community Center (JCC) enjoyed fine wines and sweet and savory bites from nearly 40 of the area’s best restaurants, chefs, bakers and caterers at the 28th annual KidShare culinary event at The Pfister Hotel.
CAUSE: Proceeds benefit the Jewish Community Pantry and fund the JCC’s scholarships for early childhood education, day and overnight camps, and special needs programs for children and adults.
PROCEEDS: More than $350,000 was raised through sponsorships, ticket sales, a raffle, and silent and live auctions.
