Jammin for a Cause

EVENT: The legendary Commodores played at the seventh annual Grand Slam Charity Jam at the Wisconsin Center.
CAUSE: Proceeds benefited Camp Hometown Heroes, which gives children of fallen U.S. service members a weeklong camp experience with opportunities for healing and hope.
PROCEEDS: $141,000 was raised through ticket sales, sponsorships, donations, and silent and live auctions.

EVENT: Local supporters gathered at the Sheraton Brookfield for the second annual Casino Night, a benefit for the Milwaukee VA Fisher House.
CAUSE: The Milwaukee VA Fisher House provides rooms to military families while a loved one is receiving treatment at the nearby VA medical center.

EVENT: The Elmbrook Humane Society hosted its spring gala at the Marriott West in Waukesha.
CAUSE: Proceeds benefited programs and services including care and housing for animals, humane education for youth and adults, dog and cat training, and foster care.
PROCEEDS: About $52,000 was raised through sponsorships, ticket sales, raffles, donations, and live and silent auctions.
HONORED: Stanley Kass, who died in January 2017, was recognized for his longtime support of the Elmbrook Humane Society and other animal-related causes.
